Antibacterial Effect of Synthetic Detergents to Gram-Positive Bacteria

Abstract
The author carried out a study to determine the minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) of synthetic detergents to gram-positive bacteria and to compare antibacterial effects of Japanese synthetic detergents with those of Korean.
The results obtained were as follows:
1. MICs of synthetic detergents to Staphylococcus aureus were 156 - 20, 000 mcg/ml and those to Staphylococcus albus were 625 -10, 000 mcg/ml.
2. For Bacillus subtilis, MICs of synthetic detergents were 2,500 - 20, 000 mcg/ml.
3. There were no difference between antibacterial effects of Japanese synthetic detergents and those of Korean.
